On September 4th 2025 we want to celebrate the wonderful duo that is Kiryu Mitsuki and Nirei Akihiko from the shounen manga and anime Wind Breaker by Nii Satoru.Join us on this beautiful day with fanworks of any kind or even just simple words/pictures of support and affection honouring the two of them together.The THEMES for the event are:

LATE SUBMISSION PERIOD OPEN!
1. The fanwork/post has to be focused on KiryuNirei.
While other ships that are included in fanworks/posts are supported and accepted, KiryuNirei has to be the main focus of the fanwork/post.
2. KiryuNirei as a romantic ship is preferred but not exclusive.
Although for this event it is preferred to portray KiryuNirei in a romantic way, platonic portrayals are also allowed (e.g. KiryuNirei in a queerplatonic relationship, an open portrayal that can be read as romantic or platonic, pre-established, etc.)
3. The themes for this event are FIRSTS and PINK AND YELLOW.
Firsts focuses on the first experiences Kiryuu and Nirei have done/will do together (eg. First date, first time holding hands, first fight, first study session, etc.).
Pink and Yellow focuses on Kiryuu and Nirei's representative colours and how they can be used is completely up to the creator (eg. flower shop au, activities that are associated with the colours, swapped colour palette, inside out au, etc.).
4. NSFW is allowed but needs to be tagged properly.
To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, any works rated higher than Teen and Up need to be tagged accordingly with a content warning and for images please censor them with the sensitive content label feature that is provided by Twitter and Bluesky.
5. Triggering Content needs to be tagged properly.
To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, any triggering content needs to be tagged with the according trigger warnings and for images please censor them with the sensitive content label feature that is provided by Twitter and Bluesky.
6. The event will be mainly held on Twitter, Bluesky and AO3.
Although, submission can be shared on any social media platform, to minimise the workload for this event's sole mod, there will only be masterlist threads on Twitter/Bluesky with everything posted on Twitter/Bluesky and a collection on AO3.
7. Use #KiryuNireiDay2025 and/or tag @occ_kiryunirei for your submissions on Twitter (@occ-kiryunirei.bsky.social for Bluesky).
Doing so will help the mod in finding all submissions for the KiryuNirei Day masterlist threads on Twitter and Bluesky. Tagging the mod is not necessary but optional.
8. Late Submissions are allowed.
After the initial submission date (04.09.2025), late submissions are still accepted until September 30th 2025 and all of them will be added to the masterlists.

Why is KiryuNirei Day on September 4th 2025?
September 4th is KiryuNirei's middle birthday. Coincidentally the day's birthday flowers are geum (meaning: satisfied love) and montbretia (meaning: modest beauty, cheerful/lively) which fits them both a lot. (Also thank you @orewings for the suggestion!)
